Urea
Urea is a powerful humectant and keratolytic found naturally in skin. At low concentrations it hydrates; at higher concentrations it exfoliates and softens rough, thickened skin.
When to Use
Morning & Evening
Concentration
2% - 40% (face: 2-10%, body: 10-40%)
Best For
Very dry skin, Keratosis pilaris, Rough elbows/knees, Cracked heels, Eczema-prone skin
How It Works
Urea is a natural component of skin's NMF (Natural Moisturizing Factor). It binds water in the stratum corneum for hydration. At higher concentrations (10%+), it breaks down keratin bonds to exfoliate and smooth rough patches.
