His & Her Glow
Active Ingredient

Kojic Acid

Kojic acid is a natural brightening ingredient derived from fungi (particularly in sake production). It inhibits tyrosinase to reduce melanin production and treat hyperpigmentation.

When to Use

Evening

Concentration

1% - 4%

Best For

Hyperpigmentation, Sun spots, Age spots, Melasma, Uneven skin tone

How It Works

Inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. By blocking this enzyme, it prevents new pigmentation from forming while allowing existing dark spots to fade naturally.

Benefits

  • Effective for hyperpigmentation
  • Natural brightening agent
  • Helps with melasma
  • Reduces dark spots
  • Can be used on body too

Pairs Well With

  • + Vitamin C
  • + Niacinamide
  • + Alpha Arbutin

Avoid Using With

  • Very sensitive skin (can cause contact dermatitis)
  • Use sunscreen always

Getting Started

Start with lower concentration (1-2%) every other day. Can be sensitizing—discontinue if irritation occurs. Always use sunscreen. Often found in brightening serums and soaps.
